Adios, Cowboy – Arc 1 – Day 3

A person can measure the span of their life in many ways. The most conventional of us count orbits around the sun. Some people use life goals to mark their emergence from a nascent state into a final form. For a time, I divided my life between “the dark times” and the years after my discovery that butter and soy sauce make for the best of kitchen companions. For real, dredge some sliced pork through corn starch, cook it up in a pan with sesame seed oil, then drop in a knob of butter and a blast of soy sauce. Once the butter has cooked down and mixed with the sauce, remove the meat and throw in some asparagus. Pairs well with oatmeal stout.

Back to the point at hand. Today there is a new contender for how I should measure my perception of time on this planet: the years before Space Doggo and the years after Space Doggo.

In so much as I’ve been trying not to build expectations for Cowboy Bebop, I can honestly say I never thought an entire episode would get upstaged by the most adorable anime corgi in the history of the form.

My life is better for the presence of Space Doggo.
