Despite what was effectively a workday amid my vacation, I still feel good about today’s work on Adios, Cowboy. Episode 6 is pretty much squared away. I did a little more finessing with its structure, but it was the kind of editing where I could see the ideas sharpening to a point. Very satisfying.
Episode 7’s review was in better shape than I remembered. Though by the time I got to Heavy Metal Queen, I was starting to run out of gas on Cowboy Bebop doing the same thing, over and over, for seemingly no reason. There’s only so much one can say when a show is jamming on the same motifs. I was right on the edge of shouting, “okay, I get it. Can we do something new now?” as if a twenty-year-old TV show could hear me cursing it through Crunchyroll. Ah, I’ve entered the old man yelling at the TV phase of my life. Brilliant.
Tomorrow’s goal will be a couple more passes on 7 and then diving into the “interlude” review.
